clustalo software package provides General purpose multiple sequence alignment program for proteins, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install clustalo
clustalo is installed in your system.
Make ensure the clustalo package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep clustalo *
You will get with clustalo package name, version, architecture and description in a table
